Let us worship with reverence and awe for our God is a consuming fire.
So I've been tagged by my blog friend Russ. Maybe he's trying to break me out of my blog funk.
Here are 16 random things about me, with illustrations for the visual learners out there. At the end, I've tagged 16 more peeps to keep the random love going. Thanks for picking me, Russ.
1. I lived in Alaska for three years. No, I've never met Sarah Palin.
2. I traveled around the country for four years in various (mostly southern gospel quartet) groups. I've sung in at least one church in every state in the US except for Hawaii.
3. I'm one of those kooks that doesn't believe in evolution. I believe it is incompatible with Scripture, and scientifically implausible.
4. I can touch the tip of my nose with my tongue.
5. I hated history in school, but now I love it. I've been known to sit down and read large volumes of history books from cover to cover.
6. I pretty much can't stand most sports. I'll watch golf every once in a while, and I enjoy the big four tournaments in tennis. I'll also admit to liking X-Games type stuff, and even the Olympics gets me going. Otherwise, I'd rather get a root canal.
7. My favorite composer is Johannes Brahms, and my favorite musical work ever is Brahms Requiem.
8. I watch TV on rabbit ears. We have done the digital converter box thing though.
9. In high school, one of my nicknames was "Air Force," because (at the time) I could see any military plane flying through the sky and identify it by name.
10. I was once a VERY highly ranked Dungeons & Dragons player. Yeah, I'm a weirdo.
11. I've been writing a fantasy trilogy off and on for around 10 years now. Don't know if I'll ever finish it.
12. When I'm in my office, if the radio is on it is usually talk radio.
13. I was born and raised in Sweetwater, TX, home of the World's Largest Rattlesnake Roundup.
14. I'm a die-hard Mac user. I'll use a PC if there's absolutely no other option.
15. My wife and I are huge book nuts. We probably have thousands of books on our shelves. No wonder I just bought a Kindle. It's like an iPod for books.
16. I have very curly hair. If I let it grow out it doesn't get long, it gets wide.

You mean that the way God create all of creation is the exact now as they were back then?
All creatures have adapted to whatever environment they are a part of.

I knew you would throw the "World's Largest Rattlesnake Roundup" thing in there. That's awesome!

@Joseph Louthan: Adaptation is completely different than (macro) evolution. Adaptation is micro evolution, and does not produce a change in species (ie. reptile to bird, bovine to whale, simian to man, etc.)
Adaptation to an environment is something that has to have been built into the original animal's genetic code at the point of creation. Then, when you consider things like the effects of sin on all creation, there are imperfections that arise that cause mutations, defect, etc. Those that are incapable of adapting, for whatever reason, eventually become extinct.
Plus, since you bring it up, the term "back then," that opens up a whole other line of debate. I'm one who holds to an absolute literal reading of Genesis, and so I don't buy into the millions/billions of years theories.
Let me just say, before this convo. goes on any further, I'm not out to change anyone's mind, and I'll admit I'm pretty closed-minded on this issue. We can still discuss it, but I would hate for it to turn into a never ending debate.
I know I'm in a growing minority that is seen as ignorant, and I'm ok with that.
@Craig: I wonder how many times you heard me say that phrase as we traveled across all those states? Good times.

16 random things! WOW! Thanks
I'll put my thinking cap on!
Oh and cound me in that growing minority. I too am fine with species adaptation. Macro evolution is a whole other ball game. I've had that discussion many times as well.

I'm behind. I'll do my tag tomorrow night. I love what you share about your hair. Two of my kids have curly hair too – it's harder to deal with than people realize.
