Let us worship with reverence and awe for our God is a consuming fire.

Musically, we had one of those days where everything just seems to click into place, despite small problems that on any other day would have driven me crazy.
Congregation wise, we had quite a few visitors yesterday, some of which were invited and/or encouraged by our own people. That's an encouraging sign to me that people are taking some initiative. I'm praying that initiative will rub off on those all around.
Vocally, the harmonies were fantastic and tight. I really wish we could sound like that every week. (We can, but that's another story for another time.)
Band wise, we introduced "Mighty to Save" for the first time yesterday, and will repeat it again twice in the next three weeks. It seemed to be very well received, and we had quite a few people singing along with us before the end—an event which does not happen on a regular basis for our crowd.
Funny thing was, when we were all done, I turned around to take off my guitar and hit my footswitch mute, only to find I was already muted. Yeah, I must have left it muted after prayer, so I was off completely for the second half of our set list. Is it bad that the rhythm guitar player doesn't even miss the rhythm guitar in the mix?
Yesterday was also the first day of our pastor's new sermon series, "Come Alive." The whole gist of the series is on the Ten Commandments, and that rather than being restrictions, following the commandments of the Lord give us freedom to truly live. If you're interested, you can hit up our website later today and stream or download the sermon.

How does God of Wonders go over for ya'll? My drummer hates doing it because he so loves the Third Day/Caedmon's Call version and it seems like we never quite get it so good but my guitarist loves the solo

God of Wonders is one of the few "original" modern songs I introduced to the church 5 years ago that I can still do on a semi-regular basis and not send folks into a comatose state. I just can't do it too often, maybe three or four times in a year max.
I guess you might say our version is based on the Third Day/Caedmon's Call version, except I don't have a drummer or lead guitarist at the time. It's kind of like the poor man's version now.

I agree, I think Mighty to Save is one of those "Songs of 2008" that will be one people remember and love and become timeless.

Echoing the "Might To Save" is a great song comments – it sure is. Love God of Wonders too!
