Let us worship with reverence and awe for our God is a consuming fire.
One of the regular feeds in my RSS reader is the highly popular PostSecret blog. Why do I read it? Like many who have been Christ-followers for most of their lives, and as someone who is immersed in Church culture I can often feel completely disconnected from outside culture.
I don't need reminders of just how depraved those without Christ can be, but reading the secrets posted there on a weekly basis serve just that purpose. There are so many who are hurting, depressed, twisted, crying for help who send in these postcards on a weekly basis.
The longer I live, I'm less and less surprised by the fact that non-believers live and act like non-believers. Fewer and fewer of these postcard secrets surprise me, but yet I can't turn away, and often find myself breathing a silent prayer for the unknown person at the other end of the paper and ink.
Then you run across one like this from yesterday's secrets:
Out of all the things on PostSectret, this might just be among the most sad. What an indictment against us that there are those out there who are afraid to walk into the doors of a church—whatever the reason. I don't know why this person is scared. Are they afraid of judgmentalism? Are they so loaded down by guilt and shame they are afraid the ceiling will cave in on them? Do they think we Christ-followers have some sort of secret sixth sense and can see their sin written on their foreheads?
I don't know what the reasons are, and can only guess. Our job is to continue making our churches accessible so these people can cast out all fear because we are a reflection of perfect love.

Oh Jeff, I too am an avid Post Secret reader. Frank came here to LSU and I got the chance to go see him. Awesome!
I've used them before as Ice breakers for our students.
