Let us worship with reverence and awe for our God is a consuming fire.
So, yeah. I took an internet hiatus, made a comeback, did some half-hearted posts, and then disappeared again for a little more than two months.
Hello? Is anybody there? Is this thing on?
Well, I'm going to try and get back into the swing of things around here slowly. Part of my impetus comes from the fact my domain is up for renewal, and I'm unwilling to give it up. But why should I keep it if I'm not going to use it? Therefore, let's get some use out of it.
What's going on? I'm still trying to focus on the things that I mentioned in my first post-hiatus post, so my blogging frequency will not be what it once was. I'm still active on Twitter and other social media, so that's still the best way to interact with me on a daily basis if you so desire.
I have two other things keeping me from blogging as often as I once did. I have decided to dive back into the art of writing again. I have two books in development right now, and it seems I soon run out of words after spending an evening of intensive writing.
One of the books is on the subject of worship. No surprise there. I have obviously had my own things to say on the subject based on my own years of study and experience. Does the world need another book on worship? Am I going to say anything that hasn't already been said? The answer is probably "no" to both questions, but I still feel compelled to write.
If it never publishes, at least I will have thought through the subject more critically than ever before, and it will make for a killer series of blog posts one day. Whatever happens, I'll sometime in the future be asking some you my fellow worship bloggers out there if I can quote you, or if you will contribute to the work. Look for an email coming your way in the next few months.
The second "book" I'm working on is a high fantasy work in the vein of J.R.R. Tolkien, but without his creative genius. I've actually had this story in my head loosely since my teen years, and have been writing it in spurts off and on for the last eight years or so. Recently, I dove back into the work in earnest, revising the 470 some-odd pages I already had typed up, and adding over 150 hand-written pages in the last 30 days.
This work is a trilogy, and I'm hopeful to be done with the first draft of the first volume before the holidays. After that, who knows? I'll start the revision and editing process, look for beta readers, and hopefully be able to track down an agent who'll be willing to shop my work around.
So, that's a little glimpse of what's going on in my life between ministry, family, reading, and wasting time watching TV.
Come back around soon as I start asking questions and give you, my readers, ways you too can contribute to my worship book.
Thanks for reading.

Good to see you blogging! I checked here last night and voila…you reappear!
That's awesome about the books you're writing! Would love to see something come of it (especially the fantasy book).
Later!

Any time you would like to talk worship I am there. I personal don't think that everything God want us to know about worship has been written. Look at the way people "worship" and you can see that most people don't have a clue. I look forward to the questions and hope you will let us ask you some as well.

Hey man, thanks for the welcome back. I really hope to make something of the books. I would really like to have my beta readers for both books be people I know and trust. You can be sure I'll be hitting you up for some contributions on the worship book as well.

Writing kind of just suck the energy out of so many other creative avenues, doesn't it?

You got it. I'll put you on the short list. Volume one is shaping up fairly quickly, so you may have a beta PDF in your email by January (or sooner). We'll see how hot I can keep my pencil. I'm already developing cramps.
