Disclaimer
This disclaimer is written in the third person because, as Jeff understands things, it is the way such things are done.
The thoughts, opinions and views expressed on Consuming Worship are those of Jeff M. Miller alone and may not necessarily reflect the thoughts and views of the staff and members of his family, New Hope Baptist Church, the Southern Baptist Convention, or even all Christians in general. It's debatable whether or not the majority of Monty Python fans would be agreeable as well.
Having said all that, if you find Jeff has written something that might be embarrassing to one of the above entities, please contact him personally. It doesn't mean Jeff will change or retract anything, but that's the way it ought to be done. This does not give Jeff free reign to say anything he wants, and he needs and wants to stay accountable to his peers.
Jeff quite often uses sarcasm and irony in his writing, which at times does not translate well in the written word. In fact, studies have shown that there are some people who are completely incapable of understanding sarcasm, both verbal and written, and are quite often offended by the use of said genre of jest. This is no reflection on their intelligence, it's just the way God wired them. If you see something on this blog that offends you, consider the possibility it is sarcasm, and then choose to laugh out loud as if you understood the joke.
It is never Jeff's intention to malign, slander, or impugn any ethnic group, organization, club, company, or individual. However, being a Christ-follower, Jeff does believe that all other "religions" are untrue, and therefore rubbish. If you are offended by this, Jeff is sorry, but his stance on this issue will never change.
If anything Jeff writes is offensive because of language or cultural differences, it is unintentional. Jeff only knows how to speak and write English, and even then only the American/Texan version of the language. Also, English is a notoriously limited language, so it may be that Jeff just literally couldn't find the words to say what he meant.
Jeff may also posit other views which some readers may find questionable. If you fall into this category, please contact the author and talk it over with him. You may find you have more in common with him than not.
Jeff tends to stay away from certain subjects like politics, and fairy tales such as manmade global warming and evolution that gullible people often choose to believe. If you are one of those kinds of people, Jeff still loves you and thinks you're likely a great person. He asks you think the same of him, even if you don't agree with him when he does touch on those subjects.
Jeff may inadvertently link to another web based source which readers may find objectionable. Jeff is not responsible for what is found in other corners of the internet, but will do his best to not point toward offensive content. If you, as a reader, find an objectionable link, please make sure it does not fall under one of the aforementioned categories above, and is truly offensive. If it is offensive only because you don't agree with it, that's your problem and yours alone.
Jeff reserves the right to delete any comment he deems inappropriate. Jeff also reserves the right to make minor edits, correct errors in fact, or remove profanity or hateful language. Repeated offenses will result in the offending commenter being banned.
All content, unless otherwise noted, is the intellectual property of Jeff M. Miller. If you use Jeff's stuff, he doesn't necessarily want to be paid, but would like to know where and how you used his material, and reserves the right to ask you to refrain from using said material. All other content which is not owned by Jeff, such as song lyrics, video from sources such as YouTube, and images from various sources remain the property of their creators/owners, and may be removed at any time at the request of said owners. Jeff strives to stay within Fair Use guidelines, but may make mistakes at times. If you feel Jeff is in breach of copyright, please contact him and let him know.
Jeff is not a lawyer, so the wording of this disclaimer may be grossly incomplete, and contain numerous gaping holes in which a reader might choose to leap through and take advantage of. Please don't do that, it's not nice.
